Welcome to the My Tunes on the Go product idea invention website! As American as apple pie is the idea that consumers can take all their music and movies with them on the go
wherever they go for playback whenever they want.
Basically, this invention idea is to be a portable CD/DVD/MP3 mass storage and playback system for either the more digitally informed consumer or can be a bridge
product for consumers who are not wanting or don't know how to use a computer to store their older DVDs and CDs with the ability to playback as needed.
These are some of the design features that could be incorporated, but are not limited to. The product shown here is an example of what a built-in unit for automobiles may look like, but products could include portable and home units.
The first concern is the legality of recording DVDs. Movies purchased before the non-copying patches and movies that have been transferred from VHS to DVD would not be affected.
But the point of this invention is to address the fact that most consumers have already spent hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars over the last decade creating massive media libraries of their favorite movies and music. These consumers are looking at their digital libraries and are faced with either spending hours downloading them onto their computers or hauling that media with them for playback at a more convenient location using bulky CD boom boxes or bringing them along in the car where varying temperatures run the risk of warping and damaging their discs.
But beyond these inconveniences, there are still two groups of consumers that have other issues that we need to address.
- Those who already own the media who are not computer literate who need a way to store their media for playback at another time or place, and
- Those who use computers frequently who may be looking for a way to either free up their existing hard drive with an external device
There is also a subgroup from both that include those who already own the media and don't want to have to re-purchase their music and movies into a digital format.
Each group benefits from this invention because non-computer literate consumers would not be required to buy or own a computer or have any technical knowledge to store and playback their media. This group only needs to load their disc and record. And for the more computer motivated consumer who already knows the benefits of digital media, their biggest concern is with safe storage for their songs and older movies that won't tie up space on their computer and can't be threatened by a crashing hard drive or computer virus. My Tunes on the Go would keep their media safer because it is not hooked up to the Internet and can grow with the consumer as newer technology updates larger memory capacity to increase expansion.
